Carbon Fiber gasket / flange for Intake Manifold for VAG 1.8T engine.

Laser cutting flanges, made of Carbon Fiber. I think it is surely better and cut more heat than what NewSouth Performance PowerGasket, or something like that does.
I only made few of them, if you do need one of it. please feel free to get contact with me via email.
Brand New version of Ignite Rev - It is "Inside Ignite Rev"

It is a new generation of Ignite Rev, it is now called as "Inside Ignite Rev". You don't need to rebuild the coil with Ignite Rev any more, you just need to use this new Inside Ignite Rev to replace the stock one.
Have HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 Installed today.
Easy task, just have it installed in my garage. :)

Brand New, the new generation of HKS Turbo Timer [Type 1]
Yes, it is just released HKS NEW Turbo Timer - Model Type 1, and I bought two of them(model type 1) as one is for my friend's turbo sports car. :)

It has identical look as the brand new HKS EVC boost controller as I have installed in my car. I think it fits my car better than the apexi turbo timer which I have it installed long time ago.
You can see the video to show how it works here:
Then, let us see the detailed spec of it:
This new generation of HKS Turbo Timer - Model Type 1 has many impressive feature, includes
1. 3 Selectable timer countdown settings:
a. Manual Mode 1: User selected countdown between 0-10min
b. Manual Mode 2: User selected countdown between 0-10min
c. Auto Mode: Automatic setting between 0-5min operation depending on driving conditions. By monitoring engine RPM, idle countdown time is automatically determined according to operating conditions of the engine.
2. Speed. Speed Peak Hold Display with Warning Function.
3. Engine RPM. Engine RPM Peak Hold Display with Warning Function
+ Shift up indicator
+ Redline indicator
4. Quarter Mile Timer / Acceleration interval calculation Function
+ Auto start, Manual Start Selection Function
+ Unit of measure: in km/h
0-100m, 0-200m, 0-400m, 200-400m,
0-100km/h, 0-150km/h, 0-200km/h, 50-100km/h, 100-150km/h
5. Stopwatch, Lap Time Measurement Function
+ Time intervals and lap times can be measured.
6. Batterty Voltage, Battery Voltage Peak Hold Display with Warning Function
These functions alert the user that the battery is losing its charge and helps the user prevent downtime from a dead battery
7. Large LCD Display Panel
Backlight: White LED
During Timer Countdown: Blinks White
Then, let us see the detailed sepc over the box of this new turbo timer:
Yet another MK4 GTI homebrew project
wow. you would see engine outputing power is over 620p in the screenshot. and the wheel based power is around 540whp.
And, sorry, using mobile phone to take photo, i know the resolution is not awful. :(

The fuel is not quite ok so far, it could be even more better afte some fine tune.
At least, the figure is not so bad, isn't it?
Have you ever checked the IAT sensor?
Ok, What is IAT sensor? It is Intake Air temperature Sensor. It would get dirty once you get some mileage. Here is a normal IAT sensor after around 10,000 KM mileage.
And why IAT sensor is so important? Well, the ECU use the measurement of the IAT sensor to determent the fuel to be injected into engine since air temperature effects air density. (colder air is much more dense). Once your IAT sensor got wrong signal, then your ECU won't calculate the right fuel injection, in such condition your car would lost some horse power and it would cost your more on buying gas.

Ok, let us talk about 588ps Golf MKIV GTI today.

As you can see the chart, it is 588ps, and 'Yes', it is a dyno chart of a Golf MKIV GTI and the max boost pressure is around 1.8bar and the turbo is GT2871R.
The ECU was remapped by our own team. Yes, it is a manual and custom designed ECU software made by ourselves. And it is really a very very good result on dyno as you can see. It is, so far, probably the most powerful 1.8T in Taiwan. :)
Cleaning and Pulishing work.

Ok, eventually I have some free time today to do some clean job of engine bay. I cleaned it all and pulished some metal stuff as you can see in the picture. It took me about one and a walf hours to pulish them. The intake manifold, part of head cover and pipes are pulished totally this afternoon. It does look like nice, doesn't it?

Remove unnecessary stuff out of the engine bay and relocate coolers.

You might have noticed that I've removed N249 and vacuum reservoir. And I relocated the N112 value which controls the EGR valve for the Secondary Air Injection system. It does make the engine bay much cleaner and it would be super easy to check and swap spark plugs.
updated: I removed N112 also. and note, you can replace both N249 and N112 with 30ohm 10w resistors.
And the vacuum reservior is working with N249, once you remove N249 you can actually remove the vacuum reservior. Want to remove N249? Check my post I made more than two years ago. Click here. The first paragraph is exactly telling you how to remove N249.
If you really don't know what N249 is, then just read document below.

Get pure RPM signal from ME7.5 ECU system without taping the coil pack.

Let us make it short and easy, the key is right in the box, which is just beside the ECU. Open it you would see some connectors in it. Get the *one* of them and tape your wire with one of the pin of this connector then you can get pure square wave RPM signal from it.
The latest brand new HKS Electronic valve Controller, a.k.a. EVC, the 5th Generation.
Well, in fact, i wait for this one about two months, but anyway less than a half year. LOL
