Changed a pair of front tyre as the previous one is almost dead for me.

Still same brand and same model, a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 225/40/18.

Rim swaped. make it a bit smaller. :)

As the previous 16 inch rims were a bit larger for this OLD school golf. I decide to make it samller and it would help to reduce the consumption of pertrol. Now I get OLD school 15 inch BBS RA and get it installed with Dunlop DZ101 tyre.

And eventually get my MKII washed, AFAIR, the last time I get my MKII washed is about three months before. :)

New Rim Fitting, the one from "Audi TT Quattro Sport"

This rim is so brilliant; it has polished and bright surface, ET26 offset and 8Jx18 with PCD 5x100. I think you can just install any kind of caliper with this rim.

PS. I don't want to install this rim so far, just put it on and have a look. :)

Waiting for Quaife LSD Kit

Posted by martin on 10 May, 2005 01:07 | Permalink | Suspension | Hits (813)

Due to the incresing horsepower, I felt that it is a little bit not easy to control this 280hp bug. I think it is time to get a LSD installed. I ordered Quaife LSD kit from ECS-Tuning website, and this one is for 02M (6-speed) gearboxes only.

In ECS website, it says:

With an ordinary open differential, most of the power is lost during wheelspin under heavy acceleration. This differential drives both wheels, instead of just one. An open differential shifts power to the wheel with the least resistance (the one with less grip). The Quaife does the complete opposite, and senses which wheel has the better grip, and applies the power to that wheel. This happens smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from either wheel.

New rims, REAL one from Porsche Turbo!!

Posted by martin on 23 March, 2005 18:29 | Permalink | Suspension | Hits (1131)

It is real Porsche product, 7.5Jx18 ET50 (it became ET30 after I instlled H&R 5x130 to 5x100 20mm adaptor with it). I chosed this rim just because the old one I have is with 8.5J width, and (made by MILLE MIGLIA) it is not so comfortable for me while running on non-flat ground with 225/40/18 tire! 8.5J is a little bit too wide fitting with 225/40/18 tire IMO. :( Now, this 7.5J rim works great!

I installed this today, but I have no time to test how it works. When I get free time, I will try to do zag turn to feel does it work great or not. Hope it just works great as Neuspeed says. :)

Rear-Left one

I installed this set couple days ago, it is hi-low kit, means you can adjust it higher or lower any time as you want. And you can also adjust the comfort variable to let you feel more racing or comfortable. Pretty nice but a little bit expensive
